The
Gobbler
"Horror gets stuffed"
A
Supernatural Screwball Comedy
A
goofy college student researching material for a paper concerning
a brutal series of murders that took place in the town during
the pilgrim era, is menaced by a mysterious killer who is always
one step ahead of him. To make matters worse, a local police
detective seems hell bent on hanging the new murders on him.
Will the hero untangle the intricate web of deceit that lies
before him before the moons of Mars and Jupiter align, and the
killer attains the mystical power of THE GOBBLER? Well, we can't
tell you that, but, we can tell you that if you like movies
like the infamous "Plan 9 from Outer Space", you're going to
love this micro-budget screwball homage to "Z" movies that has
everything but the kitchen sink thrown in!
This
is a movie that you will watch again and again.just to understand!!!

THE GOBBLER
was conceived to be the ultimate party film. The kind of movie
that you toss in at gatherings and see what happens. Fleshing
out the basic plotline are what we like to call "tips of our hats"
to many famous Hollywood movies and television shows, a bad laugh
track, a bizarre fantasy sequence, some old fashioned pie in the
face scenes, comical special effects, ridiculous flashbacks and
a monster suit that has to be seen to be believed. Now doesn't
that sound like fun? Principal photography on this film started
in July 2002 and wrapped up after a schedule of off and on shooting,
in October 2003. The release of the movie was pushed back and
almost forgotten because one of the tapes with a crucial scene
disappeared. The company went forward and eventually produced
"THE DEEP DARK WOODS" and its' sequel "THE DEEP DARK WOODS: NO
WITNESSES". In late 2004, the missing tape turned up under mysterious
circumstances. The partners of TwistedSpine.com decided that despite
the fact that we feel THE GOBBLER, one of our first, primitive
efforts, does not reflect the quality and technique of our latest
efforts, we would release our "lost movie" to satisfy the many
people that have asked about the film since the trailer for it
appeared in our first movie "TRANSYLVANIA POLICE MONSTER SQUAD"
in 2001. The movie was shot in Hiram, Northfield and Strongsville,
Ohio for a budget of about five hundred dollars dripping wet!
THE GOBBLER can be purchased online at www.twistedspine.com for
the low price of ten dollars which includes shipping! It is available
on VHS or DVD.
